TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi stated that allegations surrounding the illicit trade of location permits for the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program's kitchen units or the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) are currently undergoing an internal audit. Prasetyo addressed the matter following questions regarding whether these corrupt practices were tied to the sudden dismissal of three top officials from the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) last night.
"Everything is currently undergoing an internal audit. This is part of, once again, as we have previously stated, the continuous monitoring and evaluation that we are conducting," Prasetyo Hadi stated at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Tuesday, June 2, 2026.
Executive Shake-up at the BGN
President Prabowo Subianto appointed Nanik Sudaryati Deyang as the new Head of the BGN, replacing Dadan Hindayana. Meanwhile, the two deputy positions previously held by retired Inspector General Sony Sanjaya and retired Lieutenant General Lodewyk Pusung are now occupied by Agustina Arumsari and Major General Trenggono.
The Presidential Palace maintains that the leadership change within the BGN was executed to sharpen organizational performance and accelerate the deployment of the agency's high-priority programs. Prasetyo Hadi noted that Prabowo's decision to revamp the top brass was the direct result of a comprehensive evaluation spanning the past 1.5 years.
According to Prasetyo, Prabowo continuously monitors and evaluates the daily performance of his Red and White Cabinet, including the progress of the National Nutrition Agency. Throughout this assessment process, the President has been gathering feedback from various stakeholders, such as ministries and the public as the beneficiaries of the flagship project.
Prasetyo revealed that several performance notes regarding the BGN were taken into consideration by the Head of State. Among these issues was a distinct lack of discipline in executing standard operating procedures, or SOPs.
"Then there are matters relating to the discipline in corporate governance, including a failure to maintain the food quality standards that should have been guaranteed by the National Nutrition Agency," he explained.
The Gerindra Party politician emphasized that the new leadership is expected to swiftly rectify these institutional shortcomings. Prasetyo reminded officials that the National Nutrition Agency carries a strategic responsibility in advancing the government’s core agenda to elevate public nutritional standards.
Consequently, the Presidential Palace has urged the newly installed leadership trio, Nanik, Agustina, and Trenggono, to immediately initiate internal consolidation and tighten cross-ministerial and inter-institutional coordination.
"They must also strengthen synergy with local governments at both the provincial and district or city levels, ensuring that all BGN initiatives continue to operate as seamlessly as possible," Prasetyo added.
The administrative overhaul comes on the heels of a warning issued on May 5, 2026, by Presidential Chief of Staff (KSP) Dudung Abdurachman, who explicitly highlighted potential corruption risks embedded within Prabowo's flagship program. Dudung raised these concerns following a high-level meeting with Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Deputy Chairperson Agus Joko Pramono at the palace grounds.
At the time, Dudung stated that the Presidential Staff Office would deploy a cross-ministerial team to conduct unannounced field inspections (sidak) to ensure the MBG project remains legally compliant. He specifically flagged the illegal trading of kitchen licenses as a vulnerability. "Among the reports, I received information regarding the buying and selling of these designated points. Yes, that practice exists, specifically involving the SPPG kitchen locations," Dudung disclosed during the briefing.
