TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto will inaugurate three new officials of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) on Monday, June 8, 2026. The individuals to be inaugurated are the Head of BGN, Nanik Sudaryati Deyang, along with her two deputies, Agustina Arumsari and Major General TNI Trenggono.
The State Secretary Minister, Prasetyo Hadi, confirmed the inauguration agenda after a press conference at the Presidential Palace on Thursday, June 4, 2026. "Yes, the plan is for the (inauguration of the leaders) of BGN," Prasetyo responded to questions about the schedule of the officials' inauguration on the following Monday.
Nanik S. Deyang and her two deputies were appointed to lead BGN by President Prabowo Subianto on Tuesday, June 2, 2026. The top leadership positions of the agency, which specifically handles the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) project, were previously held by Dadan Hindayana, Inspector General (Ret.) Sony Sanjaya, and Lieutenant General TNI (Ret.) Lodewyk Pusung.
A day after the reshuffle at BGN, these three individuals were named as suspects in a case of alleged corruption and deviation from the governance of the MBG project.
Prasetyo stated that President Prabowo intentionally provided Nanik and her colleagues with several days to focus on the improvement process within the National Nutrition Agency. Nevertheless, Nanik, Agustina, and Trenggono are administratively authorized to hold the top leadership positions in BGN.
On the other hand, Prasetyo also revealed the reason why Prabowo appointed Nanik to lead the National Nutrition Agency.
According to the Gerindra Party politician, Nanik has had sufficient experience in BGN as she previously held the position of deputy head. "Therefore, we believe she has had enough time to understand all processes and activities within the National Nutrition Agency," he said.
Furthermore, he stated that Nanik stands out in the evaluation and monitoring of BGN. "She is one of the quite, if I may say so, very strict, very firm," Prasetyo said.
Prasetyo mentioned that Nanik is disciplined in executing the operational standards of BGN. He is also confident in Nanik's firm approach in maintaining the quality of the free nutritious meals.
According to Prasetyo, this attitude is part of the consideration in appointing Nanik as the leader of BGN, "to make improvements and rectifications as soon as possible," stated the former member of the People's Representative Council.
Furthermore, aside from the inauguration of BGN's leadership, on the same day President Prabowo is also scheduled to receive the letters of credence from 17 candidate ambassadors of friendly countries. "For efficiency, we plan it to be on the same day. Although the inauguration forum will be different, the inauguration of state officials with the presentation of credentials from the ambassadors of friendly countries," he said.
