TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Minister of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), Maman Abdurrahman, announced that the Presidential Assistance (Banpres) of Rp3 million per micro-entrepreneur affected by disasters in Sumatra will be disbursed soon. He explained that this cash relief is only tailored for micro-businesses that have not yet accessed formal banking finance.
The total budget allocated for this initiative amounts to Rp600 billion for 2026. According to Maman, the move directly addresses the urgent needs voiced by small business owners across three disaster-hit regions: Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.
Maman shed light on why the Rp3 million capital injection is strictly reserved for Sumatra's disaster-affected entrepreneurs who lack bank financing. "So, for those who have already accessed bank financing, the situation will be handled through banking mechanisms. For those who haven't, they will receive Rp3 million per micro-business through Banpres," Maman said at the Ministry of MSMEs office in Jakarta, Wednesday, June 3, 2026.
In addition, he noted that the total funding will not be distributed equally among the three regions. Instead, the allocation will be calculated proportionally, tailored to the exact number of affected small entrepreneurs in each area. "One of the requirements is that candidates must be proposed by their respective regional heads," he added.
In the near future, the central government will convene a coordination meeting with local authorities from the three provinces to synchronize data and finalize the list of eligible recipients. The funds are sourced from the budget allocation of the Economic Rehabilitation Master Plan for disasters in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, which commands a total budget of Rp100.166 trillion.
The database of eligible entrepreneurs will also draw heavily from local MSME clinics. Looking ahead, once this initial Rp600 billion is rolled out, the government plans to inject another Rp600 billion into the Banpres program for micro-enterprises next year, bringing the total rescue package to Rp1.2 trillion.
