TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A number of videos are circulating on Facebook, X, and Instagram (accounts one [archive] and two), claiming that the space under a toll road in Indonesia has been turned into rented rooms with a yearly rent of Rp2.5 million.
The videos capture the activities of residents under the elevated toll road, including watching television, cooking, and drying clothes. Some posts mention the location in Indonesia, while other narrations claim it to be in Los Angeles and Nigeria. "When a concrete bridge is transformed into a 'secret single-room rental' worth Rp2.5 million per year," wrote the circulating narration.
Does the video actually show residences under the toll road?
FACT CHECK
Tempo verifies the content using reverse image search, visual analysis, and artificial intelligence (AI) detection tools. As a result, it's revealed that the video was AI-generated.
Origin of the Video
Reverse image search shows the first video and the second video uploaded by the Instagram account George Wu AI on August 24, 2026. This account labeled the video as AI-generated and identifies itself as an AI creator.
The third video was uploaded by the Instagram account dire.ctor_2in1 on August 23, 2026, labeled as artificial intelligence. The account profile states that the owner is a filmmaker and creative content creator.
AI Detection Analysis
Analysis of the first video using the AI detection tool, Hive Detect, resulted in a 99.4 percent probability that the content is AI.
Similarly, Truth Scan provided a certainty score of 66 percent.
For the second video, Hive Detect analysis also stated that the video is 91.3 percent AI. While Truth Scan gave an 89 percent match score.
Additionally, Hive Detect's analysis on the third video resulted in a 77 percent match, while Truth Scan showed a result of 99 percent match.
CONCLUSION
Tempo verification concludes that the claims of videos showing single-room rentals under an overpass worth Rp2.5 million per year are false.
