TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Actor Tom Holland has confirmed that he and actress Zendaya are officially married, ending months of speculation surrounding the couple's relationship status.
In an interview with Esquire published on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, Holland revealed that all of their family members attended the wedding, although he declined to disclose when the ceremony took place.
The actor made the revelation while discussing AI-generated images that falsely portrayed him and Zendaya getting married at Lake Como, Italy. Holland recalled that his grandmother initially believed she had not been invited to the wedding after seeing the viral photos online.
When asked whether he had needed to reassure family members about the fake images, Holland replied, “No, because they were all there.”
Although he confirmed the marriage, the British actor declined to provide further details, adding, “That’s all you’ll get on that.”
Months of Marriage Speculation
According to reports, speculation about Holland and Zendaya's marital status intensified in January 2026 following comments made by Zendaya's longtime stylist, Law Roach, during the Golden Globe Awards red carpet. Roach suggested that the couple had already tied the knot, fueling widespread discussion across social media.
The rumors were further amplified by the circulation of AI-generated images depicting Zendaya in a wedding dress and other fabricated photos claiming to show the couple's wedding ceremony.
Zendaya addressed the fake images earlier this year while promoting her film The Drama. Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in March, she dismissed the viral photos as artificial creations.
“While I was just out and about in real life, people were like, 'Oh my God, your wedding photos are gorgeous'. And I was like, 'Babe, they're AI. They're not real’,” Zendaya said.
Holland Praises Relationship With Zendaya
In the interview, Holland also spoke about the strength of his relationship with Zendaya, saying their shared experience of living under constant public attention has helped create a unique bond.
“We can support each other in ways that only we can, because only we understand really what it’s like to live this life,” Holland said.
“And I think that is such a luxury, because I just don’t understand how I would be able to have anything like that with anyone else.”
The actor, best known for portraying Spider-Man in the Marvel franchise, described Zendaya as his closest companion and strongest source of support.
“So, for me, I found my person. She’s my best friend, and I’m the happiest I have ever been when I’m with her, but I have also never felt so supported and safe, ever. Period,” he said.
Red Carpet Reunion Ahead of New Spider-Man Film
Confirmation of the marriage comes as Holland and Zendaya prepare for the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the latest installment in the superhero franchise that helped launch their real-life romance.
The couple appeared together on the red carpet in Madrid, Spain, on June 16 during a promotional photo call for the film, marking their first joint red carpet appearance in four years.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to open in theaters on July 31, 2026.
